Port Royal – The battle to decide who will be the 2011 Port Royal Speedway track champions will take place this weekend with the season ending Tuscarora 50 races on September 9 and 10.

Perkasie’s Ryan Taylor enters the final Aumiller’s Insurance sprint car races of the season with just a 60 point lead in a quest for his first ever sprint car track title anywhere.

With two wins this season at the track, Taylor leads former track titlist Mike Wagner of Harrisonville with 4,920 points.

With 4,860 points, Wagner hasn’t won at the track yet this season. He is the 1991 track champion.

The 2006 track champion, Mike Erdley of Elizabethville is 125 points out of the lead after one win this season.

The trio will have three more chances to either stave off defeat or steal the champion’s crown away during the races this Friday and Saturday.

Friday’s Living Legends Dream Night Before The 50 twin 20s will each offer full competition points toward the title to go along with Saturday’s Tuscarora 50.

However the twin 20s will offer only one set of appearance points for the title.

Hamburg’s Scott Haus need only enter AB Auto Glass late model competition on Saturday night to lock up an unprecedented eighth track title in the division.

Though Haus has only one win this season, consistency has put him at the head of the late model class vying for the title.

Haus’ closest pursuer the second half of the season has been Mitch Hack.

With one victory, Hack has given Haus little breathing room until now, keeping him honest with several second place finishes. He currently sits some 350 points back.

Brian Towsey enters Friday’s final Miller’s Auto Parts pro stock race with a 110-point lead over Josh Angle.

Harold Ranck is 120 points back with Dan Berry behind by 140 points.

The quartet will settle the title fight between them and it will be a first ever pro stock title at the track for any of the pilots.

Jen Powell recorded the 2011 Juniata Tire Sales Enduro Dash division championship with a fifth place finish on Saturday, September 3.
