“Flatfoot Joe” Krawiec of Bristol, CT cinched the first USAC Dirt Midget Association Championship by winning his fourth feature of the season at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. on Saturday night.
Krawiec started sixth and grabbed the lead of the non-stop event on lap four. Scott Holcomb of Granby, CT used his runner-up finish to secure the second spot in the points battle and Tony Montesi of Roxbury, CT came home third to secure his first podium finish of the season.
Dana Shaw of Plainfield, CT had another strong run, coming from 11th to finish fourth. Jamie Spalding of Chaplin, CT was fifth, completing an all Nutmeg State top five.
Bear Ridge Speedway will host a non-points “special event” for DMA competitors on Saturday, September 24.
