USAC’s 2012 Mopar Western Midget Series debuts this weekend during the “Mini Gold Cup” at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. Feature events are on tap both Friday and Saturday nights.
Cory Kruseman won last year’s series championship and recorded a second and a sixth in two 2011 Chico starts. Kody Swanson, Johnathan Henry and series runner-up David Prickett won the 2011 Chico features.
Racing at the quarter-mile dirt oval is expected to begin at 7 pm each night.
Female driver Shannon McQueen established the one-lap Chico USAC Midget track record of 14.328 seconds last August.
