Kaeding Reclaims National Wins Lead with Tulare Triumph

PETERSEN MEDIA

– After a string of second place finishes to close out 2011 and open 2012, Bud Kaeding has been on fire as of late, as the third generation reclaimed a share of the national wins lead as he grabbed his fifth win of 2012 at the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA Saturday night.

“It was a small, but strong field of cars, and it was nice to get a win for Brian Matherly and all the guys who work on this thing,” said Kaeding.

With 12 cars in the house for the Rebel Cup 360 race, Kaeding timed his Sprint Car Innovations/Kaeding Performance/BZE machine fourth fastest.

During heat race action, Kaeding stormed to the impressive win, putting himself in the main event inversion that, ultimately put his Factory Kahne/Yak Graphics/K&N entry in the second row for the feature.

“We were rolling pretty well in our heat, and I was pretty confident with what we had going into the feature,” Kaeding commented.

Shooting out of the third spot, Kaeding gained control of the race early, and would not be denied on this night.

While second and third hooked up in a torrid battle behind him, Kaeding rocketed away aboard his Brian Matherly tuned machine and picked up his fifth win of the season.

“It was a great night all in all,” Kaeding continued. “Brian wanted to come down here and try some things, and it worked out for us.”

Kaeding would like to thank Kaeding Performance, Sprint Car Innovations, Alviso Rock, BZE, Factory Kahne Shocks, Racing Optics, K&N Filters, Yak Graphics, ButlerBuilt, and Brown and Miller for their continued support.

ON TAP: Kaeding is now slated for a pair of races coming up this weekend, as he will be in action Friday night at Ocean Watsonville before heading down to Santa Maria for the USAC West Coast 360 race.
