SYRACUSE, NY – As the 30th season for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) kicks into high gear this weekend many of the major sponsors have returned adding to the nightly and point fund payouts for the 2012 season. With their contributions and the slew of new sponsors that home come aboard the overall payouts have increased over years past.
Cobra Coaches, Fondations 4 Saisons, Car Mate Custom Built Trailers and Ohsweken Speedway continue their support towards ESS.
Chuck “the Cobra” Hebing comes in as the defending ESS champion and for the third consecutive season, Cobra Coaches will back the Dash Series point standings. The top ten in dash points earned during the year will be rewarded from the very lucrative point fund. Cobra Coaches specializes in custom built motorhomes, trailers and race haulers. The Poirier family and Fondations 4 Saisons is back with ESS and 2012 marks the sixth consecutive year that the successful concrete company from Quebec has backed ESS. This season will make the third year as title sponsor of the Quebec Super Star Series. Leeper Pa’s Car Mate Custom Built Trailers is back with ESS for the title sponsor of each heat event held during a full point show. The winner of the ten lap qualifying race will get an extra $25 in the pay envelope at nights end. Glenn Styres and his Ohsweken Speedway is once again a big contributor of ESS with the nightly winner’s bonus. With the help from Ohsweken, the minimum winners share at a full point ESS event is $1550. The crown jewel at Ohsweken will once again be the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals which will be held on Sept. 14 and 15, it will be the eight annual event and ESS is proud to be a part of all the events. This weekend marks the Memorial Day Spectaculars with the annual $2,000 to win Earl Halaquist Memorial at the Fonda Speedway followed by the first of four visits to the Utica-Rome Speedway on Sunday.
First year sprint car driver Sam Reakes IV comes in as the current Lucas Oil ESS point leader but as the season kicks into high gear he will find the challengers to be the best of the best. Hebing, Poirier, Shawn Donath, Lance Yonge, Justin Barger, Kevin Ward Jr., Jeff Cook, Cory Sparks, Matt Tanner, Michael Parent, Vigneault, Tommy Wickham, Paul Kinney and many more will be out looking for ESS gold.
