Mother Nature would not cooperate Wednesday night at the Grandview Speedway.

Following modified warm-ups and moments before the 410 sprints were about to pushed off, a heavy downpour fell upon the Grandview Speedway. The ten minute rain stopped and the track crew quickly evaluated the track conditions. The decision was, the race will go on. Because of the amount of rain, the track crew allowed the track time to drain before bringing out the packing equipment. The clouds began to lift and the skies brightened slightly. Minutes later, the rain began to fall again, forcing the cancellation of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series 410 Sprint and 358 Modified double-header. The rain continued to fall well over an hour.

This event, being part of the Keystone Cup Speed Week Series, could not be rescheduled, however, Grandview Speedway will be looking at other possible dates to perhaps find another date for the 410 sprints. The 410 Sprints & 358 Modifieds will come together again for the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week Series on Tuesday night, July 3rd.

The next Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event is set for Tuesday night, June 5 when the nationally known USAC wingless sprints invade the “hill” joined by the ARDC wingless midgets. Race time is set for 7:30 PM with gates opening at 5 PM. Wednesday night, June 6 will be the rain date.
