Meeker, OK — (June 29, 2012) — Kyle Cobb took advantage of a lap nine restart to pass Strike Hill and win his fifth champ sprint feature of the season Friday night at Brill’s Motor Speedway.

Past winners scored victories in the other five classes as well but the champ sprint feature was not decided until late in the race.

Brandon James set the early lead and was chased by Strike Hill until the yellow flag came out after eight laps. On the restart Hill charged into the lead on the backstretch and a lap later Cobb roared into second. Cobb then closed on Hill and took the lead away after another lap to score his fifth victory of the season.

Doug Bragg earned a fourth modified victory after taking the lead near the halfway point in the main event. Bragg passed Charles Day for second on lap four and went after leader Kyle Goforth. Bragg worked his way around Goforth on lap nine and went the distance. Goforth spent the remaining laps turning back the challenges of Tony Osborn to finish second.

Zach Nickell is making up for lost time with his second win in three weeks in the E-modified division. Nickell only returned to racing two weeks ago and won in his second night out. Friday Nickell won his second straight over points leader Steve Robinson.

The ProStreet feature started off in wild fashion with a three-way fight for the lead on the opening lap. Johnny Reed, Jr., David Smith and Chad Weber tried to run through turns three and four three-wide on the opening lap resulting in a yellow flag waving. Weber won the battle for the lead on the restart and was followed to the finish by Reed, Jr. To earn his third victory of the season. Jeremy Allen was third.

Gil White battled with last weeks winner James Fabian in the E-sprint feature before finally getting in the last word with two laps remaining. Fabian led early with White challenging on several occasions. White finally got the lead at one point only to see Fabian move back in front after a restart with two laps remaining. However White shot past again and held on to win his sixth feature of the season.

Jerry Colby won his fourth mini stock feature of the season winning over points leader Brian Ward.

There will be no racing at BMS on July 6. Points racing resumes July 13 for all classes except champ sprint as the OCRS sprint cars will return to BMS for the second time this season. The champ sprint drivers will be racing with the OCRS on July 13.
