Huset’s Has Horrific Ending

From CDR

Midweek racing just outside Sioux Falls, South Dakota took center stage on Tuesday for Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team as they laid eyes on Huset’s Speedway to open up the month of July. Making his fifteenth World of Outlaws appearance at the high-banked facility, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ had recorded 9 top-tens with 6 in the top-five and swept the pair of shows in 2008.

In front of a capacity crowd on a hot sunny July day, Dollansky started the night by posting the 4th fastest time among the 24 cars to start third in heat #1. In the 8-lap heat the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim finished 4th to earn a spot in the dash. Luck of the draw for the dash inversion put the Elk River, Minnesota native on the pole and race to a 2nd place finish.

In the 35-lap A-Main the MobileStar #7 started outside the front row. As the field roared into turn 1 action wouldn’t stay green for long as the first caution came out before a lap was complete. Set for a complete double-file restart the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter worked the highside trying to get past the leader but lost second in the process on lap 3. Dollansky then moved back to the bottom of the track and closed in on Mark Dobmeier until the seventh circuit when the Big Game #7 motored into the runner-up spot exiting turn 2 but contact sent the #7 into a series of violent flips. Dollansky was able to climb out of the beaten race car but damage was too significant for the crew to attempt to make repairs.

Racing resumes tomorrow, July 6th, at Cedar Lake Speedway in Somerset, Wisconsin.
