USAC/STARS D1 Midget point leader Jim Anderson hopes to increase his 17-point lead in the standings this Saturday as the “Bob Tattersall” unfolds at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill.

The race honors the memory of the late 1969 USAC National Midget Champ from Streator, Ill. who racked up 63 feature wins and still ranks fourth on USAC’s all-time list of Midget race winners.

Anderson’s primary title challenger is Patrick Wilda, who still seeks his first 2012 victory despite a string of three straight seconds to open the campaign. Anderson won the series opener and has “top-10” finishes in the subsequent four races at the Morris oval.
