ANDERSON, Ind. (July 26, 2012) – Racing action returns to Anderson Speedway on Saturday, July 28 with G.W. Pierce Auto Parts Night at the Races showcasing the H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars. Other divisions in action include EDCO Welding Street Stocks along with G.W. Pierce Front Wheel Drives in Oval and Figure 8’s.
The H.O.S.S. Winged Sprint Cars will compete in their fifth event of the 2012 season. Winners this season include Joe Swanson (Baer Field), Troy DeCaire (Baer Field), Ryan Litt (Angola) and Swanson (New Paris). Swanson sits atop the point standings with a 61 point lead over Chris Neuenschwander with Jim Dolph in third position.
In the most recent H.O.S.S. event at Anderson Speedway last September, Swanson earned the feature victory after leading the entire 30-lap distance. He was chased across the finish line by Jimmy McCune with Geoff Kaiser, Aaron Pierce and Neuenschwander rounding out the top five.
Josh Myers continues to pace the EDCO Welding Street Stock division with three feature victories, four fast times and nine top-10 performances. Rickie Tharp continues to rank second in the standings after posting seven top-five finishes. Other contenders include Jimmy Kirby, Tyler Marsh and Frankie Oakes.
Ron Phipps sits atop the G.W. Pierce Front Wheel Drives Oval standings. Second in the points rundown is Marshall Clark Jr. with Paul Phipps ranked in the third spot. In the Figure 8 division, Mike Alley has constructed a 110 point margin over Donnie Ellis Jr. with Kevin Henson completing the top-three performers.
On Saturday, July 28, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8. Admission is $12 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
