With just a few races remaining in the 305 FAST season, Paige Polyak went into the weekend looking to move into the top 5 in points. Friday, Attica Raceway Park hosted race 8 in the 10 race FAST season. Drawing the 7th starting spot in the 3rd heat, Polyak avoided a early race crash, right in front of her, to race up to a 3rd place finish and a re-draw position. Rolling off 10th in the 25 lap A Main, Paige was race into 8th in the first few laps. With her car pushing in the middle off the turns, Paige tried changing her line from the high side down to the low groove. Searching for her best line, Paige raced up to 6th, looking for more. As her push was still present, Paige settled into 6th, staying in line with the rest of the front runners. As the top 5 pretty much just followed the leader, Polyak rode it out just behind them in 6th, bringing home another top 10 finish on the season, moving her up to 6th in the FAST points. Saturday it was off to Fremont Speedway for race 9 of the FAST season. With another high pill draw, Paige would roll off from the 5th spot in the 3rd heat. After a another near miss, by avoiding a spinning car that gathered in back in, Polyak raced into 3rd settling in, there was just way too much distance to make-up in the 8 lap event. This put her in a invert position for the Fremont average points system. Paige would start the A Main in 5th as the event was being pushed along as huge storms were in the area. As the field took the green, Paige quickly had brake issues, coasting to a stop before a lap was complete, ending her night. A broken brake line was discovered once the car returned to the pits. The storms rolled in a few minutes later, postponing the rest of the program. Paige will take this weekend off to attend the Knoxville Nationals, looking to make more contacts in the sprint car industry to further her career. Polyak would like to thank Steyer Seeds, JLH Contractors, HE Rudy Trucking, Bryan Auto Plaza, Napa Auto Parts of Bryan, Ned F Gregg Reality, The Pit Stop of Tiffin, Oliver Motorsports, and Handi Grafix for their continued support during the 2012 season.
