Darrah Fourth At Final Nationals Tune Up

PETERSEN MEDIA

– With a new sponsor, and a new paint scheme, Cody Darrah took advantage of a Sunday night race at the Knoxville Raceway and scored a fourth place finish during his final tune-up at the raceway until the Nationals.

With SurePoint Medical Group coming on board for the rest of the season, Darrah unveiled an immaculate Blue car on Sunday and proceeded to put on quite a show for the fans.

The night started off with Darrah timing the SurePoint Medical Group/Schroth Racing/Team ASE No.4D in with the 13th fastest lap during time trials with 68 cars on hand.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, Darrah scored a second place finish, and transferred into the feature event, where he would end up starting in the second row.

As the race got underway, Darrah settled into the third spot as he chased after second running, Tim Shaffer.

While Darrah would roll both the top and bottom, he soon had his hands full with his Kasey Kahne Racing teammate, Joey Saldana.

As the race wound down, Saldana would get under Darrah, but Cody remained tough on the cushion.

Joey would finally get the third spot, as Darrah settled for the fourth spot.

“It was a good run for us to get dialed in for the Nationals,” Darrah said. “With such a stout field of cars tonight it was cool to run up front with SurePoint on the car tonight.”

ON TAP- Cody and his KKR team will be in action on Thursday night at the Knoxville Raceway for their qualifying night at the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals.
