DODGE CITY, Kan. (August 16, 2012) – A pair of back-to-back race weekends are right around the corner at Dodge City Raceway Park, the only such occurrence at the 3/8-mile clay oval in 2012.

Next Saturday night, August 25, will feature a BST Modified card along with the track’s other championship chase divisions. Then, on the following Saturday and Sunday, September 1-2, it’s the long-awaited return of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Sprint Cars at Dodge City Raceway Park.

The Saturday, August 25, event will offer up a $1,000 winner’s share for the BST Modifieds and is also the final event on the BST South tour. The event will award track IMCA Modified points as well, with the United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Poor Boy Kustomz Thunder Cars and Hornets in action as well.

There is already a buzz in the air for the September 1-2 Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MavTV National Tour event. It will mark the first and only appearance since the ASCS National forces took to the Dodge City Raceway Park for two nights in June of 2005 when Hooks, TX, Hall of Famer Gary Wright and Norman, Oklahoma’s Danny Jennings split victory honors.

While Wright’s final season on the ASCS National Tour and behind the wheel is winding down, the series championship battle is between the unrelated duo of Oklahoma City’s Wayne Johnson and Eunice, Louisiana’s Jason Johnson, with other series contenders including Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon, top rookie contender Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, MO, Albuquerque’s Johnny Herrera, Tony Bruce, Jr., of Liberal, KS, Washington’s Seth Bergman, Tulsa’s Dustin Morgan, Wright and Washington native Logan Forler, who picked up an NCRA Sprint Car win at DCRP last weekend.

Joining the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on the Saturday, September 1, card will be the IMCA Modifieds, United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifeds and IMCA Stock Cars. Rounding out Sunday’s action will be United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and Poor Boy Kustomz Thunder Cars.

The Lucas Oil ASCS weekend double will also serve as a benefit event for Megan Kramer, a 30-year-old mother of three who is battling breast cancer. Donations will be accepted both nights to benefit Megan Kramer in her battle against breast cancer.

Tickets to the August 25 BST Modified championship event are just $15 for adults. Seniors and Military receive a $5 discount, with children 11 and under admitted free if accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30.

Tickets to the September 1-2 Lucas Oil ASCS National Toru event, all general admission, are $20 for the Saturday preliminary card and $25 for the Sunday finale. Those ordering the two-day package in advance for $45 will also receive a free pit pass for Saturday’s action. Advance tickets may be ordered by calling the track office at 620-225-3277.
