Mother Nature and left rear tires have been the Achilles heel for Lance Dewease, and this past weekend was no different, however the veteran driver put together a third place finish at the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday.

Being rained out yet again at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, Dewease and his team set their sites on the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday.

Early in the feature, Dewease put his Conduit Connections/Viper Risk Management Group/Wings Unlimited No.30c in the second spot as he chased down Cory Haas, with Greg Hodnett hot on his tail.

On lap 14, Brian Montieth moved into the third spot and began pressuring Dewease for the second spot.

The two veteran shoes put on quite the show for the next six laps as they battled for the second spot with Montieth finally getting the better of him on lap 20. Dewease didn’t let him have it easy, and the duo closed in on Haas, and turned it into a three hoarse race for the lead.

With Montieth grabbing the top spot from Haas, Dewease was un able to get around Haas and settled for third at the stripe.

On Sunday, the team headed to the Bedford Speedway for the lone sprint car race at the track all year.

Dewease had a very strong night going as he started the night off by setting the fastest lap during qualifications.

In the feature event, Dewease ran comfortably in the third spot as he chased after Gregg Hodnett and Mike Wagner until his left rear tire gave way yet again with just two laps to go, and he ended up in the third position.

“We had a very fast car all weekend,” said Dewease. “We got going pretty good at Lincoln and were in contention for the win, and then at Bedford we easily had a top three car, but we lost a left rear tire late in the A.”
