Fremont, OH — (September 1, 2012) — With rain falling off and on throughout the morning, with more predicted throughout the afternoon and evening, Fremont Speedway officials have cancelled the 14th Annual 305 Sprint Invitational scheduled for Sunday.

“We contacted our meteorologist friend and looked at the weather radar and forecast. They are calling for clearing in the early afternoon, but no sun, then rain and thunderstorms in the late afternoon, evening and throughout the night and into tomorrow. We had to make a decision that is good for the race teams, fans and Fremont Speedway. It’s a tough decision to make, but you have to consider ALL the implications,” said Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer. “They are saying the remnants of Hurricane Isaac will be in the area through Tuesday.”

Farmer said the make-up feature from Aug. 4 for the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks will take place on Sept. 29. He added he is looking into a special race for the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints as well.

Fremont Speedway will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 8 with double features for the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints as they make up the rained out event from Aug. 4. This will decide the 2012 Kistler Racing Products Fremont Attica Sprint Title (FAST) Champion and the $10,000 top prize! The 30 sprints, dirt trucks and Surfing’ Sweepstakes Sports Compacts will also be in action.
