Hanover, PA — (September 7, 2012) — It took three tries and a single-file start to get Friday night’s 358 sprint car feature underway at Trail-Way Speedway, but once it got going, it went non-stop.

And establishing a 25-lap track record and scoring his second win of the year was Hanover’s Isaac Sneeringer.

“It’s been a rough four weeks,” said Sneeringer, “It feels awesome being in victory lane instead of upside down in turn four, where we ended up last week.”

After two unsuccessful attempts to start the race, the field was lined up single-file for a third complete restart. Randy Whisler had the point and led the first 16 laps before Sneeringer, who started second, was able to wrestle the lead from Whisler in turn three of lap 17.

“Randy was fast and it was hard to get a run on him,” said Sneeringer, “I finally got my chance and took it. After the luck we’ve had here, this has my confidence back up. We’ll be here for the (Trone Outdoor Advertising) championship next week.”

The DCI Racing/Todd Gosnell Paving #19Z covered the 25 laps in 6 minutes, 3.9 seconds in the first non-stop 25-lap 358 sprint car feature ever run at Trail-Way.

Whisler completed a strong run in second, with Joe Trone, Jr., Jeff Rohrbaugh, and points leader Kyle Moody rounding out the top five. Sixth through tenth were Steve Owings, Austin Hogue, Brad McClelland, Tim Wagaman, and Mike Bittinger.

Moody’s fifth-place finish was good enough to hang on to an eight-point lead over Bittinger with two point races remaining in the 2012 season.

Heats for the 18 “358” sprint cars were won by Sneeringer and Wagaman.

Bill Foster claimed his first win of the year in the 20-lap Pro Painters Extreme Stock feature.

Foster started on the outside of the front row and followed polesitter Dan Furman for the first four laps before Furman’s left rear tire began losing air.

Once in front, Foster drove away to the win with Furman pulling into the pits on lap 11.

Timothy Hahn made a race of it late, closing to within a carlength of Foster at the checkered to finish second, with Justin Mitchell, Jason Zook, and David Goode completing the top five.

Heats for the 11 Extreme Stocks were won by Furman and Hahn.

Kyle Rohrbaugh drove around Allen Haines in the final turns to pick up his sixth win of the year in the 15-lap limited stock feature.

Ricky Weaver, Jr. led the first seven laps before Haines made the pass during a four-car battle for the lead in turns one and two of lap eight. Haines then led the rest of the way until the final two turns.

Rohrbaugh started 12th, advanced to third by lap 12, and caught Nick McDaniel for second with two laps to go. He closed quickly on Haines and completed the race-winning pass exiting turn four of the final lap.

Haines settled for second, with McDaniel third, Jason Chronister fourth, and Matt Chronister fifth.

Heats for the 23 limited stocks were won by Matt Chronister, Ricky Weaver, Jr., and Ryan Smith.
