POCOLA, Ok. (Sept. 11, 2012) – Whit Gastineau fought off a serious challenge at Tri State Speedway to collect his third Oil Capitol Racing Series presented by Goodyear victory of the season.
The race around the 3/8-mile dirt oval drew 26 winged sprint car entries but the struggle at the front captured the attention of the crowd in the grandstand.
Goodyear is the Official Tire Company of the OCRS and supplies tires for the series’ events. Goodyear manufactures a right rear tire for the rigors of competing in the OCRS. The remaining tires Goodyear sells to OCRS competitors are the same as those used by the major winged sprint car programs across the country, both touring series and weekly programs.
Gastineau and Jamie Passmore took turns taking the lead from each other before Gastineau finally won the race. Passmore finished second. Shane Sellers, Johnny Kent and Robert Sellers completed the top five finishers.
