PAS SENIOR SPRINTS GET LAST WARMUP FOR BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS!

From Perris Auto speedway

Perris, CA — (September 14, 2012) —  This Saturday night, September 15th, at the 5th Annual Glenn Howard Memorial at Perris Auto Speedway, The PAS Senior Sprint Car Series will get its final tune-up for the 17th Annual Budweiser Oval.  Joining the Seniors on the card will be the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, California Lightning Sprint Cars and the beautiful WRA Vintage Cars.  Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first race will be at 7:00.

Personable “Hubcap Mike” Collins of Lake Forest, won the last race at The PAS on August 18th.  That victory was his first in Sprint Car competition and the 55-year-old racer is returning with new, soft tires as he tries to make it two in a row.  The win moved Collins into fifth in points.

The fight for the series championship is still alive and looks as though it will carry through to the season ending racing in November.  Ventura’s Bruce Douglass, 61, holds a slim three-point lead over defending series champ Bill Badger, 62, of Santa Clarita.  Third spot, and a young pup compared to the top two, is 48-year-old Simi Valley resident Victor Davis.  Davis comes in only 21-points behind his teammate Douglass and 18 behind Badger.

This Saturday, the Senior Sprints will run a heat race (s) and a 20-lap main event.

After Saturday’s race, the Seniors will have a month and a half off before the November 2nd and 3rd Budweiser Oval Nationals.  They will run heats at the Oval Nationals on the 2nd and their final main event of the year will be on the 3rd.

John Aden’s “777 Chassis Company”  is the official chassis of the PAS Senior Sprint Car Series.  At the last race of the season, drivers who have made all of the 2012 series races or only missed one, will be entered into a drawing for a free 777 Chassis.  After the August 18th race, Collins, Douglass, Davis, Badger, Wiley Miller and Ed Schwarz are still eligible for the drawing.

The PAS Senior Sprint Car Series is open to drivers 45-years old and older.  The only other major rule is the cars have to be cast iron block 360 engines.  There are no tire, weight or gasket rules.  It is old school style “run whatcha’ brung’ racing.”  If you would like to compete please call: (951) 940-0134.

The entire 2012 PAS schedule is listed at the end of this release.
