D1 MIDGETS WRAP UP 2012 SEASON AT MORRIS SEPT. 29

Jim Anderson of Joliet, Ill. is prepared to put the finishing touches on the 2012 USAC/STARS D1 Midget Championship September 29 after finishing third in last Saturday night’s 30-lapper at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway. Anderson has a 135-point lead over Patrick Wilda in the standings, which will become final after the September 29 race at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill.

Hometown hero Bryan Nuckles paced all 30 laps in his CMS entry to win Saturday’s race at the one-third mile paved oval. Austin Prock finished second ahead of Anderson, Derek Bischak and Jarett Andretti.

The victory was the third of Nuckles’ USAC/STARS D1 Midget career.
