Formerly the home of the World’s Wrist Wrestling Championship, Petaluma, Calif. will host a different form of tussle this Saturday when the USAC Mopar Western Midget Championship comes to town.

Petaluma Speedway, celebrating 50 years of motorsports, will welcome Western Midget point leaders Shannon McQueen and David Prickett as they continue their pursuit of 2012 championships. McQueen leads Prickett by 139 points in the overall standings, while Prickett leads McQueen by 41 in the dirt standings.

The Petaluma area has long been a magnet for Hollywood’s movie industry and the Speedway has a legacy of entertainment of its own.

At present, only five races remain on the 2012 calendar, culminating in the November 22 “Turkey Night Grand Prix” at Perris, Calif.

McQueen and Prickett continue to seek their first feature events this year, but McQueen has eight “top-fives” and Prickett has six.
