USAC’s AMSOIL National Sprint Car campaign concludes its Midwestern activity October 12 and 14 with races at Terre Haute, Ind. and Lake Odessa, Mich. respectively. The “Jim Hurtubise Classic” is at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track and I-96 Speedway hists the October 14 event. Drivers Bryan Clauson and Jon Stanbrough now trail point leader Dave Darland by just 24 and 26 points respectively after last Saturday night’s race at Lawrenceburg, Ind.
Chase Stockon of Sullivan, Ind. posted a $10,000 victory in Saturday’s City of Lawrenceburg “Fall Nationals,” leading all 30 laps of the main event to post his initial series victory. Stockon piloted the First Financial Bank/Superior Tank & Trailer DRC/Fisher to the win.
Chris Windom was second ahead of Damion Gardner, Clauson and Hunter Schuerenberg.
Stanbrough was 11th and Darland 19th in the 23-car field, serving to tighten up the point chase going into the Terre Haute race.
