Tarlton Fourth at Ocean

From Peterson Media

Friday night at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA, Tommy Tarlton scored a fourth place finish as he continued a very impressive season at the Santa Cruz County facility.

The night started off with the driver known as “The Terminator” timing in with the fifth fastest lap during qualifications, putting his Corporate Lending America/Tachi Palace and Casino/Sharp Insurance No. 21 machine in the first heat alongside Steven Tiner.

The Easton, CA driver flexed his muscle early in the race as he carved his way to a second place finish, from his fifth starting spot putting his Band and Associates/BG Lubricants/Pro Signs machine in the feature event.

Rolling off for the 30-lap feature in the third spot, Tarlton quickly moved up to the second spot as he chased down and quick Shane Golobic, and raced with a charging Steven Tiner.

When the red flew on lap 17, Tarlton had slipped back to the third spot, as Tiner had gotten around him just one lap earlier. Tarlton would move to the second spot on the restart, as he persistently pressured Golobic over the next nine laps, only to have no avail at taking over the point.

On a lap 26 restart, Tarlton bobbled off or turn two and allowed Brent Kaeding and DJ Netto to get by, as he slipped back to the fourth spot. Over the final four laps he was unable to get back around the two, and ended his night in the fourth spot.

“We had a strong car all night, and that’s credit to Paul Baines and my team,” he said. “I tried to make something happen on that last restart to give us a shot at the win, but it ended up dropping us back to the fourth spot.”

Tommy would like to thank Corporate Lending America, Tachi Palace and Casino, Sharp Insurance, Bandy and Associates, Pro Signs, BG Lubricants, K&N Products, All Star Performance and Astro Titanium for their continued support.
