PEORIA, Ariz. (October 22, 2012) – A big stretch of exciting racing action at Canyon Speedway Park continues this weekend with the 12th Annual Parker Store Hall of Fame Classic featuring the USAC National Sprint Car Series atop the 1/3-mile clay oval.

While the wingless forces of the USAC National Series headline the event on Friday and Saturday, the CSP Challenge Cup non-wing Sprint Cars will be in action as well on both night to make for a full card of traditional Sprint Car racing.

It will be a busy week of activities as well beginning with Wednesday evening’s Kick Off Party presented by Racers Advantage Store at the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame and Open Wheel Exhibit at 3534 E. Broadway Road in Phoenix from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

An open practice at CSP will follow on Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with action on Friday and Saturday getting under way with qualifying at 6:00 p.m. and then racing at 7:00 p.m. on both nights.

Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, IN, swept through both nights of competition at last year’s Hall of Fame Classic at CSP, making an unlikely charge from third to first on the final lap to finish off the weekend.

That double propelled Clauson to USAC’s National Driver Championship, an award that landed him an Indy 500 ride in May. And, while those Indy 500 commitments forced Clauson to miss several events, he has climbed back to within 23 points of Dave Darland in the USAC Sprint Car title chase entering this weekend.

While Darland holds a 23-point edge over Clauson, Jon Stanbrough is another 34 points back in third with Tracy Hines and Damion Gardner rounding out the top five. The balance of the current top ten includes Levi Jones (whose season was cut short by recent surgery), Chase Stockon, Robert Ballou, Hunter Schuerenberg and Kevin Thomas, Jr.

Two-day passes for this weekend are just $40. Platinum Reserved seating is available as well for just an additional $5 per night. Purchased individually, tickets for Friday are $20 with tickets for Saturday at $25. Two-day passes for Children ages 7-12 are $20 (or $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday), with Children six and under free. VIP Suite ($60 for 2 days or $30 for Friday and $35 for Saturday) and All Access ($70 for two days or $35 for Friday and $40 for Saturday) are available as well.
