Santa Maria, CA — (December 13, 2012) — Series Director Chris Kearns has announced an addition to the 2013 Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Schedule. On May 18th, the traditional 410 sprints will compete at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway, making a total of 23 events on the calendar. The tenth USAC/CRA season will kickoff on March 1st with the two day “Copper On Dirt” at Canyon Speedway Park.
Steve Faria’s lightning fast 1/3-mile facility last showcased the regional series in 2010. On May 30th, “The Bullet” Blake Miller claimed the “Salute To Indy” victory in Mark Priestley’s #7 Bullet. Piloting his #29 BK Motorsports Maxim, Bud Kaeding won the November 13th co-sanctioned Pacific Coast Nationals. Since 2007, “The Kruser” Cory Kruseman, Matt Mitchell, Garrett Hansen, and Jon Stanbrough have also scored USAC/CRA victories at Thunderbowl Raceway. Series officials have announced that the USAC Western Awards Banquet will be held on February 9th at the Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles. In addition to USAC/CRA, the West Coast Sprints, Western Classic Sprints, Western Midgets, and Ignite Midgets will be honored. More details will be released as soon as possible.
