Sydney, AU — (January 5, 20130 — Max Dumesny has claimed the final night of Sydney Speedway Speedweek Challenge with a thrilling last lap pass underneath Ian Madsen, while Madsen claims Speedweek.
Dumesny followed Madsen for almost the entire race through lap traffic until he pounced on Madsen coming out of turn two on the final lap. Second however was enough for Madsen to claim Speedweek honours with two wins next to his name. Madsen was disappointed with second however was still thrilled to be crowned Speedweek champion and continues to lead the Track Championship points. Trevor Green proved strong throughout the race trying all the he could in his number four machine. He was able to land his second podium in two nights. He mentioned on the podium the he was thrilled with another podium but even more thrilled to see his great mate Max Dumsney back in Victory Lane. Ben Atkinson had a solid night coming home in fourth with Joey Saldana getting knocked back in the final stages to fifth. Max Johnston, Warren Ferguson, Matt Smith, Lynton Jeffrey and Jason Sides rounded out the top ten.
John Lodge Jnr took out the Street Stock feature ahead of Ray Healey and Shane Carlson.
The Legend Cars put on another terrific race with Chris Aird was again putting himself in Victory Lane. John Morris and Brett Morris rounded out the podium.
Shane Cartwright took to the lead with a handful of laps remaining in the AMCA feature and went on to take the win. Graham Flood and Robert Chant took home second and third.
