Santa Maria, CA — (January 12, 2013) — USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series Director Chris Kearns has announced a couple of changes to the upcoming schedule. Hanford’s Kings Speedway and Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare will now host a special doubleheader in September, bringing the total to 16 point races on the 28 race schedule.

Originally set for September 21st, the “6th Annual Jim Turner Memorial” at Hanford has been moved one day earlier for a special Friday night race. The action packed card will also feature the winged Rebel Cup Sprints, IMCA Sport Mods, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Vintage Cars. For more details on the September 20th date, visit kingsspeedway.net.

The following night, an additional race has been scheduled at Tulare’s lightning fast 1/3-mile oval. The Saturday night showcase will be the fifth appearance of the year at Thunderbowl Raceway and could play a key role in the championship. Starting on January 25th, Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona will host the “2nd Annual Winter Challenge.” Also featuring IMCA Modifieds, more than $100,000 in total purses will be up for grabs at the non-point “Arizona Speed Week.” The co-sanctioned main events with the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars will pay at least $2,000-to-win, while the winner of the February 2nd finale will take home $5,000.
