Santa Maria, CA — (February 26, 2013) — Officials with the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series have announced a change to their regular format in 2013. Sponsored by the Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles, the winner of the new six-lap, eight-car dash will earn an extra $100.
The Dash will showcase the top-8 drivers in qualifications (or top-8 in passing points) that transfer from the heat races. The eligible drivers will start with a full 8-car invert, earn championship points, and the finish will set the first four rows of the main event. In case the dash is not used, those drivers will redraw for starting position.
Located at the Municipal Airport in Paso Robles, California, the Woodland Auto Display opened on July 19, 2009. The facility houses a rotating series of racing history, including Sprint Cars, NASCAR Stock Cars, Modifieds, Super Modifieds, and Midgets. In addition, many exotic, classic, and muscle cars are available for viewing. As part of the Estrella Warbirds Museum, the Woodland Auto Display is at 4251 Dry Creek Road, Paso Robles, California, 93443. For more information, visit www.ewarbirds.org/automotive/woodland.shtml.
