Selinsgrove, PA — (March 22, 2013) — Track officials at Selinsgrove Speedway & Raceway Park announced Thursday evening that racing action for this Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, has been cancelled due to this weekend’s forecast for unseasonably cold weather.

The cancellation was the second weather-related closing of the early 2013 season. The Snyder County half-mile oval will swing back into action at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30, with the first four division show of the regular season featuring the 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners.

To celebrate the Easter holiday, the speedway will hold an Easter egg hunt for kids prior to the start of Saturday’s racing program and hand out candy to the first 100 kids. Track gates will open at 4 p.m.

The first practice session of the season on the half-mile track is slated for 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, and is open to any full-size race car for a fee of $100 per entry.

Selinsgrove Raceway Park will open its 13th season at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, with a program of go kart and micro sprint car racing.
