Though his night ended with a DNF, Andy Gregg was pleased with his performance at the Mini Gold Cup, at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.

With a star studded field assembled for the big show, Gregg opened his night up by timing his Coors Light/LivFast/GUTS No.53 machine in fifth fastest in time trials, putting him in the first heat.

The start of the heat, saw Gregg get off to a great, start, but he was forced to get on the binders, and fall back to the fifth.

“We had a great start, and were battling for the lead, but we had to check up, and fell back and lost some spots,” he said. “We got back to fifth, and chased down TK, but just held our spot as we were in a transfer.”

Finishing fifth, he transferred to the feature event where he would roll off in the 11th position.

When the race went green, Gregg felt something going amiss early in the feature, but stayed on the track seeing if he would identify the problem.

Complaining of some ‘over-revving’ noises, Gregg decided to pull off the track, and head back to his pit area, ending his night with a DNF.

“It’s a bummer, but like I told my guys, we had nothing to hang out heads about, after this race,” he said. “We were fast all night, but unfortunately, we had some tough luck.”

Andy would like to thank Coors Light, LivFast Clothing Co., GUTS Racing, Meyers and Son Drywall, Ervin Sales Group, K&N Products, FK Rod Ends, Eagle Motorsports, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Hinchman, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, and 103.5 The Blaze for their support in 2013.
