Rochester, NY – (April 4, 2013) – It may be hard to believe, but in less than a month, the Patriot Sprint Tour will surpass the 10-year anniversary.  As the PST moves into its second decade, the same great competitors and events continue, as does impressive announced point funds that have been confirmed.

A 26-race schedule is in place for 2013, which will begin next Saturday, April 13, at the Fulton Speedway.  This is the second-consecutive year that Fulton’s A-Verdi Methanol Meltdown kicks off the tour; also for the second-straight season, the Patriot Sprint Tour has secured separate point funds for the races in America and Canada.

The PST America Tour will feature 17 races while the PST Canada Tour will have nine races.  Separate points will be tabulated, with the champion of each series claiming $5,000.  Last season, in the first year with separate point funds, Scott Kreutter claimed the American Crown while Justin Barger made the long trips north to dominate the Canadian tour.  In 2013, if one driver wins both tours, they will score an additional $5,000 for a total point fund payout of at least $15,000.  Expect this incentive to lure a host of drivers into being at each PST-sanctioned race.

A potential series record of 17 different tracks are on the 2013 schedule, of those, only one track will be visited for the first time.  Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio will become the 33rd facility to host a points-paying PST race in series history.  Other tracks return to the tour for the first time since 2006, including Utica-Rome Speedway, which will host the Cole Cup in September. Bradford Speedway, in Rew, PA, will host their first PST races since 2006, when it was known as “The Hill”.  Bradford will host a pair of events, now on the Saturdays of Memorial and Labor Day Weekends, followed each time by annual trips to Eriez on Sunday.

A group of races will have extra significance.  Merrittville Speedway will kick off the PST Canada Tour on April 27.  The following week, Friday, May 3, Black Rock Speedway, the most-visited track in series history, will host the first of three series races on the 10-year anniversary of the first Patriot series race.  The series has come a long way since 2003, and one way to prove that will take place in the fifth race of the year, when the 200th Feature in series history will be held.

Trips throughout the summer to Woodhull, Mercer, Ohsweken, South Buxton, Brockville, Cornwall, Ransomville and Clinton County will bring the season into September for challenge races before the final race in each series takes place in October.  The PST America season will conclude with a highly-anticipated race at Brewerton Speedway on Friday, October 11, while the PST Canada tour will once again wrap-up at Brockville at the Northeast Fall Nationals, this year on Saturday, October 19.

It has been a long winter, but a huge season is ahead, so make sure are connected with the Patriot Sprint Tour on Facebook, Twitter, and of course on www.PatriotSprintTour.com.
