Destiny Motorsports Forced to Make Driver Change

PETERSEN MEDIA

Sometimes in racing the ‘real world’ steps in and changes plans. For Jayme Barnes, that is the case as his growing business has forced him to take his seat out of the Destiny Motorsports entry, and focus on his every day job.

“I am disappointed I have to step away from Destiny Motorsports, but my business is starting to pick up, and I am unable to get away, and go racing,” Barnes said. “I am very thankful for the opportunity the Rogers family put in front of me, and wish it were different.”

“Our family is behind Jayme Barnes 100%, and know the importance of work, and understand his situation,” Destiny Motorsports owner, Rick Rogers said. “He is a great guy, and has a great family, and we look forward to working together again down the road when his schedule allows.”

Still with a very aggressive schedule lined up for the 2013 season, Destiny Motorsports hopes to name a permanent replacement in the coming weeks, but the instant replacement will be Indiana hot-shoe, Brandon Wimmer.

“I am very eager, and excited for the opportunity to drive the Destiny Motorsports No.9,” said Wimmer. “I have known Scott Benic for a very long while and am looking forward to working with him. I am eager to get with the Rogers family and see if we can make this work.”

The team will look to gel very fast as they are scheduled to be in action this weekend at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH against the World of Outlaws.

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank Mondak Portables, Rick Rogers Construction, Eagle Motorsports, Speedmart, Wesmar Racing Engines, Driver Websites, and Benic Enterprises for their support through the 2013 season.
