Back in action aboard the Bernie Steubgen owned, Indy Race Parts No.71, Shane Stewart returned to the Knoxville Raceway and picked up his fourth career 410ci feature even victory in dominating fashion.

“We struggled last week in the 410, so we made a last minute call to come out here and see if we could run well,” Stewarts said.

With 32 cars on hand, Stewart started his night off by timing in sixth fastest, putting him in the third row of the third heat.

Showing his continued skill and success at the famed raceway, Stewart wasted no time getting to the front, as he picked up the impressive heat race win from the third row, putting him in the second row of the feature event.

With the 20-lap feature going green, Stewart quickly worked up into the second spot on the opening lap as he slid past many time track champion, Terry McCarl.

On the second lap, Stewart took the lead, as he got past early leader, Don Droud, Jr, and never looked back.

A pair of cautions was the only things that seemed to slow Stewart on this night, as the defending three-time champion of the 360 nationals, powered away from the field, as he was not to be denied the win.

Comfortably out front Stewart, was not hindered by a lap-16 caution, and went on to win the feature event over Terry McCarl and Ian Madsen.

“It feels great to get back in victory lane,” Stewart said. “We were good on Friday during practice, and we really had a top notch car all night. I’m cant thank Bernie and his boys enough for the ride, and working their tales off all night.”
