From PETERSEN MEDIA

Despite a few weeks of struggles, Jonathan Allard and his Williams Motorsports team kept working away on their car and it paid of this past weekend as Allard scored his first win of the 2013 US season on Friday night, before scoring a second place finish at the Dave Bradway Jr, Memorial on Saturday night.

“We had been plenty bad at times,” Allard said. “We would get a little angry with each other, but Ashley and the boys kept digging away and we had a great weekend.”

Friday night saw Allard in action for a weekly show at the Silver Dollar Speedway.

With 27 cars on hand, JA set the standard in time trials, as he set quick time with a time of 11.881 seconds.

A second place finish to Peter Murphy in his heat, put Allard in the feature event, and the four pill put him in the second row of the feature event.

Stuck in the fourth spot when the green flag waved, Allard pounced on a battle between Rico Abreu and Shane Stewart and drove to the second spot.

With young Dominic Scelzi in the lead, Allard wasted no time getting past him, as he lid the young charger on the tenth lap to take over the lead, and never look back.

Out in front, Allard clicked off near perfect laps, as he picked up his first win of the year.

“It’s great to get a win back home,” he said. “It’s been a rough start to the year, and I have to dedicate this win to my brother, Stephen, he was riding with us tonight for sure,”

Saturday night, Allard was back in action looking to pick up his sixth Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial race win against the King of the West Series at the Silver Dollar Speedway.

With a monster field of cars on hand, Allard was fast again early, as he timed in with the third fastest lap during qualifications.

Lining up fourth in his heat, the Chico, CA product, flexed his muscle, and powered himself to a heat race win, where he would put his Williams Motorsports machine in the night’s dash, and 40-lap feature event.

The vaunted eight pill put JA in the last row of the feature event, though on the very racy track, he would advance three positions, and start in the fifth spot for the feature.

When the 40-lap slugfest went green, Allard hooked up in a torrid battle with Andy Gregg and Kyle Hirst as the trio fought over the third spot.

With a blanket over the duo Allard would find himself sneaking up to the third spot, late in the race.

Chasing after Rico Abreu, Allard would inherit the second spot when leader, Shane Stewart pulled off, but he was unable to do anything with Abreu.

“It’s great to be up front again,” JA said. “We are a strong team, and it’s nice to show it. It’s great to win, and be back up on the front stretch with the KWS series.”
