Spencer Bayston Takes Command of the Mel Kenyon Midget Series at US 24 Speedway

From MKMS

(Lebanon, IN)  On the strength of his May 18 win at US 24 Speedway Spencer Bayston has taken command of the USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series point race heading into Anderson Speedway on Wednesday May 22.  Bayston topped the second place Ford Focus car of Kent Kriegbaum by 0.708 when the checkered flag dropped on the 30-lap feature.  Bayston has now won 3 of the four Mel Kenyon Midget Series events this year.

The win didn’t come in a walk for Bayston as Kriegbaum held the point for the first 10 markers.  Five yellow flags allowed the field to close up on Bayston’s bumper forcing him to defend his position on the restarts..

Behind Bayston and Kriegbaum, last year’s top two drivers Travis Young and Dameron Taylor were slugging it out for the third spot.  Taylor eventually topped the 2012 Champion Young for third, while Clayton Gaines earned the fifth spot

The USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series will return to the paved high banks of Anderson Speedway on Wednesday May 22.  Also on the Pay Less Little 50 week Wednesday card is the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series.  Racing kicks-off at 7 PM
