Lone Visit to New Jersey Yields Top-Ten

For the first time since 2007 the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars returned to New Egypt Speedway for a weekday stop on Tuesday.  With the event also marking the only visit of the season in New Jersey, Craig Dollansky and the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team prepared for the 7/16-mile track where ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ has recorded top-tens in each of his three previous appearances including two top-fives.

After getting a feel for the track in hotlaps, Dollansky piloted the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim to the 16th fastest lap in qualifying at 13.775 seconds among the 32 drivers signed in for competition.  Heat race action then put the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter on the pole of heat four where the Elk River, Minnesota native took command leading all 8 circuits to earn a spot in the dash.  Starting last in the 6-lap dash, outside row five, Dollansky had no place to go but forward as he raced past three cars and then battled with Paul McMahan for sixth but ultimately finished 7th.

In the 30-lap A-Main the Big Game Treestands #7 lined up inside row four on the starting grid.  A less than desirable start to the main event saw Dollansky lose a couple of positions on the opening lap.  Battling a track that was still very fast and narrow, the MobileStar backed entry closed on Greg Hodnett by lap 11 but didn’t have quite enough room to make the pass.  As the feature continued under green flag action and the laps clicked off, Dollansky continued to run 9th until the checkered flag flew as he recorded his 10th top-ten in the last 13 events.

The Dirt Track at Charlotte now awaits the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team where World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car competition resumes this Friday, May 24th, in North Carolina.
