Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present a Salute To The Military this Saturday, June 1 at 7 pm when it affords free adult general admission to all members of every branch of the armed services, past or present, with id.

The welcomed veterans and service men and women will be treated to a full slate of racing including the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, Gray’s Auto and Towing late models, pro stocks and Juniata Tire Sales enduros.

The track is fresh off of a stellar night of racing over the Memorial Day holiday weekend that saw just shy of 90 cars in competition with national veteran Danny Lasoski etching his name in the Port Royal record books by taking a $5,000 win in the Fallen Heroes Championship for 410 sprints.

At the same time, Coleby Frye out dueled Nick Dickson and Eric Zembower to pick up a big win in the Fallen Heroes race for super late models that paid $2,000 for the victory.

That win by Frye helps set the stage for the upcoming June 4 Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek program slated for Port Royal.

The Tuesday night special will also include the 358 late models with action slated to begin at 7 pm.

And a dramatic event is sure to unfold for the speedweek show as late model racing at the track this season has been second to none.

To date, in seven programs for the Port late models, there has been six different winners with Matt Parks the only pilot able to double up.

And the same type of record is intact in the 410 sprint division at Port Royal this season where winged slicing and dicing on the historic oval has produced seven different winners in eight total events.

Doug Esh has been the only man to repeat in the class to date.

Port Royal will welcome the wingless stars of USAC coming up on Saturday June 8 when the track hosts EMMR/Penn Central Racing Reunion Honoree Night along with the ARDC Midgets and pro stocks.

The wingless stars of the United States Auto Club 410 sprints will tour the big half-mile for only the second time in the history of either organization.

The 2013 USAC Eastern Storm tour visit to Port Royal will showcase the wingless warriors in a 30-lap, $6,000 to win feature event.
