Irvine wins 305 Feature at Dog Hollow

From Terry Whetstone

Strongstown, PA — (May 31, 2013) — Mike Blose of New Bethlehem and Marshall Detwiler of Roaring Spring became the third
different winners in the Townsend Gas and Oil Super Late Models and the Lias Tire Pure Stocks, respectively Friday
night on Forsheys Garage Trophy night at Dog Hollow Speedway.

Roger Irvine of Irvona picked up his first Precise Racing Products Racesaver 305 Sprints and John Hayes of Clymer
won his first Myers Tires Modified Four Cylinder feature while Stephanie Ivory of Coalport showed the guys the fast
way around the track to garner her second Myers Tire Four Cylinder Sidewinder win.

Dan Lee and Andrew Gordon led the Super Late Models to the start with Gordon taking the lead and Clate Copeman
following him into the first turn. The top two were quickly joined by Mike Blose who started third and the top three
were pulling away from the competition and putting on a show for the fans. A rash of early cautions included
Copeman leaving the track in turn two, unexpectedly while still second. This was the final caution of the night, as
the green waved it was still Gordon setting the pace with Blose all over the #18G trying to get the lead, he was
unable to get under Gordon, and after trying repeatedly several times, Blose decided to go to the outside, once he
moved high exiting turn two, he darted into the lead in turn three and never looked back, picking up his first win of
the season at Dog Hollow. Gordon was second with Dan Lee third, Dwayne Taneyhill fourth and Sammy Stile in fifth.
Blose and Taneyhill split heat wins.

The Fastrak Late Models were brought to the start with Rick Singleton and John Mazey leading the way. Singleton
darted into the lead at the start and had Joe Moyer on his tail. As he was setting the pace, Andrew Satterlee joined
the fight and the top three pulled out from fourth place to wage their own battle. A lap 12 caution for a spinning
Joey Petyak regrouped the field, and Moyer pitted. Singleton then led the final eight laps, with Satterlee in second
throwing what he had at the leader, but Singleton wanted another Dog Hollow win and parked in victory lane under
Kevin Smyers checkered flag. Satterlee was second with Mazey, Mike Laughard and John Eckenrod completing the
top five. Singleton and Moyer won the preliminaries.

Robbie Bartchy lined up beside Roger Irvine to bring the Racesaver 305 Sprints to the start with Bartchy taking the
initial lead. Irvine was second and exiting turn two on lap four, it was Irvine taking the lead. While the top two were
fighting for the top spot, two time winner Bryce Stephens was coming to the front. The young man started 12th and
was third by the second lap. He was second on lap four when Irvine took the lead, but the Wild 1 wasn’t able to get
past Irvine, who took his first Dog Hollow win of the season. Stephens was second with Steve Kenawell, Jeff Bacha
and Don Sotosky completing the top five. Irvine and Stephens won the heats.

Marshall Detwiler took the lead of the Pure Stock feature from fellow front row starter Andrew Koenig. Detwiler set
the pace with Adam Pletcher taking the second spot early in the race, and pulling along side of Detwiler several
times, but Detwiler wasn’t letting this win escape like opening night. As he was exiting turn four on the final lap, it
was Detwiler taking the win, making him the third different winner in as many races. Pletcher bobbled and gave
Koenig second with Ryan Claycomb fourth and Jason Bender fifth. Detwiler won the heat.
Stephanie Ivory beat John Costa off the line to start the Four Cylinder Sidewinder main, and she led every lap, with
Costa, Jack Theys and Jessie Laughard all trying to muscle past her for the win, but she wanted to show them the
fastest way to victory lane, as she grabbed her second win of the season. Costa, Laughard, Theys and Chris Yoder
completed the top five. Laughard and Sean Fitzpatrick won the heats.
J
ohn Hayes led the Modified Four Cylinder feature from green to checkered to pick up his first win of the season.
Mark Maglet held off Tom Pavelko for second and Ashley Britsky was fourth. Hayes won the heat.
