Taking on the Rebel Cup Series on Saturday night at the King’s Speedway in Hanford, CA, DJ Netto overcame a mid-race spin to fight back and score a seventh place finish on a very blistery day in Central California.

With temperature skyrocketing through the region, DJ Netto and his Netto Racing team looked to beat the heat by putting together a good run.

Getting underway in time trials, Netto timed his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts machine in seventh fastest putting him on the front row of his heat race.

The initial start was waived off and both front row starters were put back a row much to Netto’s dismay.

Underway in the heat, Netto had some issues, as his righ-rear shock blew out, and he held on to finish fifth in the heat.

Lining up for the feature in the seventh spot, Netto worked the top side of the speedway, as he found the King’s Speedway cushion to his liking.

Continuing to pound the cushion all race long, Netto got out of shape at the halfway point, and gave up his fifth running spot, as he lost the handle a spun out.

Restarting at the tail end of the field, Netto went back to the high, scary side, and worked his way up to a seventh place finish when the race concluded.

Netto also took part in the USAC West Coast 360 event.

Timing in 10th quickest, Netto was too light at the scales, and was forced into the back all night.

Starting last in the feature, the local product put on a show, as he raced his way up to the seventh spot at the stripe.

“It was kind of a frustrating night, but the track was pretty fun to race on,” he said. “Losing a shock in the heat set us back a bit, and then spinning out in the feature, was not what we wanted to do. It was a crazy hot day, so I have to thank my guys for helping, and all the fans that came out.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2013.
