Kyle Hirst charged from 19th to score a ninth place finish on Saturday night at the King’s Speedway in Hanford, CA during the Pombo-Sargent Classic.

With 44 cars on hand, Hirst was the 43rd car out to time in, and wound up laying down the 24th quickest lap aboard his Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle machine.

“We went out second to last, and didn’t have much to work with,” he said.

Starting on the pole of his heat, Hirst was hard on the throttle and grabbed the lead, and took. Hirst would win his heat comfortably, though he would be marred deep in the field for the feature event.

On what was a very slick and racy track, Hirst proceeded to put on a show, as he tried so badly to score a win during his last night of competition with crew chief, Sonny Kratzer.

Running the cushion, and utilizing several slid-jobs throughout the night, Hirst was a man on a mission, as he was inside the top-10 by the halfway point.

Once inside the top -10, Hirst was not done, as he worked his way up to the sixth spot, with just a couple laps remaining.

While in sixth, Hirst made slight contact with a lapped car, and his Mobil 1/FK Rod Ends/Weld Wheels backed machine did a quick 360, and he kept it under power, though he slipped back to the ninth spot, where he finished.

“My guys were awesome all night,” he said. “We were deep in the field to start, and to get up towards the top-five is a testament to my guys and this team. Also, I  have to give the guys at Hanford a huge thumb’s up on the track, with the car count, it was racy all night. It was our last night with Sonny Kratzer, so I thank him for everything he has done, and wish him well.”

Kyle and his Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance Center, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support.
