Dodge City, KS — (July 1, 2013) —  When the World of Outlaws ride into Dodge City, KS, this weekend, likely the most famous surname in Sprint Car racing will be defending race champion honors in this weekend’s Boot Hill Showdown atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval.

After Kraig Kinser topped the opening night of last year’s Boot Hill Showdown, father Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws champion, triumphed in the finale.  Both Steve and Kraig will be in action along with a full field of contenders this Friday and Saturday in southwest Kansas.

With reserved seating going quickly, remaining reserved seats as well as general admission tickets are available at http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=89 or by calling the track at 620-225-3277.

Advance tickets combos for both nights are available for $65 for reserved seats and just $50 for general admission.  Single night tickets are $40 for reserved seats and $35 for general admission.  Children’s tickets (12 and under) are $10 per night in general admission seating only.

Both Kinsers are still in search of their second series wins of the year entering this weekend’s action.  Steve Kinser picked up his lone win of the year in April at El Paso Speedway Park in west Texas, while Kraig Kinser notched his win in May at New York’s Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown.

While Steve and Kraig Kinser try to take more Boot Hill Showdown glory, Owasso, Oklahoma native Daryn Pittman leads the Outlaw forces into the weekend with a 130-point advantage as he seeks his first series championship.

Piloting the Kasey Kahne Racing Great Clips No. 9 entry, Pittman has picked off five feature wins through the opening 38 nights of World of Outlaws competition.  Only Donny Schatz and Tim Kaeding have parked in victory lane more often, with Schatz posting seven wins and Kaeding nabbing his sixth score this past Friday night.

Schatz, the five-time and defending series champion, has slipped to third in points just behind Elk Grove, CA, native turned Nashville resident Paul McMahan, with Craig Dollansky and Sammy Swindell, who both picked off wins this past weekend along with Kaeding, rounding out the current top five in points.

The balance of the current top ten includes Joey Saldana, leading rookie contender David Gravel, Cody Darrah, Steve Kinser and Chad Kemenah with Kraig Kinser, Kerry Madsen and Jason Sides trying to break into the top ten.

While Kinser & Kinser took Boot Hill Showdown wins last year in pair of Number 11 cars, a pair of number 7 entries took 2011 honors at Dodge City Raceway Park with Dollansky and Sides victorious.

Both nights of Boot Hill Showdown racing action featuring the World of Outlaws will go green at 8:00 p.m.

In addition to the much anticipated World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown on July 5-6, 18 scheduled nights of action at Dodge City Raceway Park over the course of 2013 features several special events including the TORC Off Road Trucks in April, a pair of $1,200-to-win IMCA Modified tilts in July along with USAC Sprint Cars on August 23-24 and four rounds of URSS Sprint Car competition along the way.

Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, KS, on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south.  For more information, contact the track at 620-225-3277 or check www.dodgecityraceway.com.
