Tiner Third at Belgrade

PETERSEN MEDIA

In action with the ASCS Frontier Region in Montana over the weekend aboard the Peterson No. 23N, Steven Tiner charged to a third place finish on Friday night at the Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, MT before expiring an engine on Saturday night in Billings, MT.

“It was a fun weekend with the Peterson family,” Tiner said. “But I am ready to get over the hump of second and third place finishes and pick up some wins.”

Friday night, Tiner pocketed a third place heat finish, but found himself outside of the top-eight points earners, and was forced to start the feature event in the ninth spot.

In the feature, Tiner had a very strong racecar, as he slowly worked his way through the field, chasing after the lead pack of cars.

Breaking into the third spot late in the feature, Tiner eyed leader, Joe Ramaker, and second running Phil Dietz.

Giving the duo all he had, Tiner came up a little short, and wound up with a third place finish.

Saturday night, Tiner and his team headed to the Billings Motorsports Park in Billings, MT, and again hoped to earn a stop in victory lane.

Starting fifth in his heat, the Visalia, CA driver charged to a second place heat finish, making him the night’s high-point guy, and he ultimately found himself in the second row for the feature event after the re-draw.

Lining up third in the feature, Tiner looked for the second spot early, but as he did that he experienced engine issues, and his night was over.

“We were fast at Billings, but unfortunately we lost an engine early in the feature,” he explained. “We were awesome in the heat, so I was looking forward to the feature, but we had some bad luck. I have to thank all of the Peterson’s for everything, and look forward to hopefully racing with them again.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank BR Motorsports, King Racing Products, Elma Lanes, Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, Dan Olson Race Products, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Good Ridge, Schoenfeld, Western Metal Company, and Roseville Precision for their support in 2013.
