Park City, Kansas – August 9, 2013 – Traditional sprint car racing will come back to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas on Thursday night, August 22nd as the Arizona/California based USAC Southwest Sprint Car series will bring their non-wing sprint action to the speedway as part of the “Freedom Tour” with races taking place in Oklahoma and Kansas.
The tour kicks off on Wednesday night, August 21st at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Oklahoma before heading to 81 Speedway on Thursday night. The four race swing will conclude on Friday and Saturday night at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas.
This non-wing sprint event will pay $2500 to win.
The USAC Southwest Sprint Cars will be led by their current point leader R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona. Other tour regulars expected include: Charles Davis, Jr., Mike Martin, Ronnie Clark, Shon Deskins, Josh Pelkey, Chris Bonneau, Andrew Reinbold, Brian Hosford and Mike Bonneau. Those drivers are currently make up the top ten in their point standings.
Drivers from the Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri are also expected to ditch the wings and compete.
Gates for this Thursday night special at 81 Speedway will open at 5:30 PM and racing starts at 7:30 PM. Grandstand tickets will be $15 for ages eleven and older, $5 for children ages 6-10 while all pit passes will be $30.
