WHAT’S THE RUSH ALL ABOUT ? THE JERSEY RUSH TUESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 20 AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY. .. . 410 SPRINTS & MODIFIEDS

By Bob Millernewegypt

NAPA Auto Parts and Pioneer Pole Buildings proudly present the 3rd Annual JERSEY RUSH at the New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, NJ on Tuesday night, August 20.    The fastest cars on dirt, the 410 sprints will share this blockbuster program with the modifieds in an event that will get underway at 7:30 PM.

So what’s the RUSH all about?   It’s all about speed and racing on the edge as only the 410 sprint cars can do.  IF you’ve never seen the 410 sprints at New Egypt, this is a “must see” racing program.   If that’s not enough to excite you, the top names in the modifieds will battle it out on the racy 7/16th mile “D” shaped New Egypt Speedway.

A winners share of $5,000 will go to the victor of the 30 lap 410 Jersey RUSH feature.    Drivers expected to be in the field include Fred Rahmer, Greg Hodnett, Lance Dewease, Danny Dietrich, former Jersey RUSH feature winner JJ Grasso, Billy Dietrich, Ryan Smith, Davey Sammons and Ryan Taylor just to name a few.

Making the modifieds  even more interesting, event organizers have created a blend of rules to bring together the Big Block Modifieds and the PA/New Egypt Legal 358’s modifieds.    So here’s  the deal.    Big Block Modifieds  will have a 467 cubic inch limit, they  must run with windows only,  gas with a weight of 2,500lbs.  For the PA/New Egypt Legal 358 Modifieds, sail panels are allowed, gas with a weight of 2,275 or Alky with a weight of 2,350.   9:1 Steel Blocks will have a weight of 2275.    American Racer Tires will be required (no stamp necessary) with the Fronts at 33 or harder, the Left Rear at 44 or harder and the Right Rear at 48 or harder.   This blend of rules was designed to attract drivers from various speedways and should bring together an all-star roster to include Billy Pauch, Ryan Godown, Rick Laubach, Jimmy Horton, Neal Williams, John Stangle, Rocco Infante, Ryan Watt, Richie Pratt Jr and Mike Frantz.

Presented by NAPA Auto Parts and Pioneer Pole Buildings, the JERSEY RUSH III will get underway at 7:30 PM with gates opening  at 5 PM.

In the event of rain, Wednesday night, August 21 will be the rain date with the show getting underway at 7:30 PM.

Always a highlight of this event is the pit side Meet & Greet where race fans may enter the pit area from 5 to 6 PM.  That’s right, race fans may enter the 410 sprint pit area absolutely free!    This is a great opportunity for the fans to meet the 410 sprint drivers prior to the start of the racing action.   Race fans entering the New Egypt Speedway through the grandstands should go to the picnic area just off turn four.  They may enter the pits behind the fourth turn grandstands.

The Jersey Rush III  is a co-promotion between Lenny, Danny and Davey Sammons and special events organizer Bob Miller.
