The United Racing Company completed a successful two race weekend in Central Pennsylvania this past weekend.    Tower City, PA driver Mark Smith was the winner of the MACH 1 sponsored  feature at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night as Boyertown, PA driver Randy West scored an impressive win on Saturday night at the Port Royal Speedway.     In the season long Rislone URC Sprint Series point chase, JJ Grasso holds a one-hundred and fifty-one point advantage over runner-up title contender Josh Weller.   Seven events remain on the schedule  with the next stop set for the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, August 31.    A “Tribute to Kramer Williamson” will continue at Delaware International this Saturday night and the familiar #73 Pink Panther will be on display.  The Williamson family will be on hand selling t-shirts, hats and “In Memory”  decals.  If you are unable to attend the races but would like to purchase any of these items, please visit:  kramerwilliamson.com    Kramer Williamson, a former three time URC Champion and winner of sixty-seven URC career wins lost his life following a sprint car racing accident at the Lincoln Speedway on August 3rd.

In the point battle, Grasso, Josh Weller and Davie Franek are battling for the crown  with many of the other positions juggling each week.   Hot off a win at Port Royal on Saturday night, Randy West and Fred Kennedy sprinter are ranked fourth in the point battle.  After a strong weekend,  Chad Trout of Dover, PA is now fifth in the point chase.  Trout was a feature winner in early August at the Lincoln Speedway.   The point battle for  six through ten is nip and tuck between  Brian Carber, Dan Mazy,  Troy Betts, Jonathan Swanson and Scott Lutz.

Following the Taylor & Messick sponsored URC event at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, August 31,  some URC competitors are planning to compete in the $7,000 to win 360 sprint event at the Utica Rome Speedway on September 7.  The Utica Rome event is NOT a point race for URC.   The following weekend, the URC Sprints will make their final stop of the season at the New Egypt Speedway on September 14.  The final point race of the 2013 URC season will take place at the Grandview Speedway on Saturday night, October 19.
