Capping Castrol With Another Strong Finish

The Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team put the wraps on racing action in ‘The Great White North’ for 2013 on Saturday as they returned to Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta coming off a seventh place performance the previous night.

With 23 drivers signed in for the Oil City Cup finale, a late draw in qualifying saw Dollansky pilot the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products Maxim to the 15th fastest lap in qualifying.  Missing the heat race inversion of twelve cars and on the outside looking in, a strong heat race saw ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ rebound racing from 5th up to the all important top-two to earn a spot in the dash.  In the 8-lap dash the Elk River, Minnesota native started outside row five and finished 9th.

After a red on the opening lap of the 30-lap A-Main prompted a complete restart, Dollansky raced into eighth before the next yellow on lap 4.  A strong double-file restart saw the MobileStar #7 motor into sixth just four circuits later and closed the gap on Brad Sweet for a spot in the top-five.  After the final caution came on lap 23, Dollansky raced back and forth putting on a great battle with Daryn Pittman in the final seven laps before racing to the checkered flag with a near top-five finish in 6th.

The Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team will now travel to the far west and Skagit Speedway in Alger, Washington as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series kicks off a grueling stretch of 9 races in 10 days.
