Sunday night saw Cox kick his night off by pulling a number two pill, putting his Lucas Oil/K&N Products/JRI Shocks entry on the pole of his heat.

When the green flag dropped, Cox got the jump, and went on to win his heat, and then found himself on the outside front row of the feature event at the famed facility.

As the race got underway, it was a two car battle for the lead for the first three laps, before Cox was able to grab the top-spot, and slowly began distancing himself from the field.

Cox would work himself to a very substantial lead, until the yellow flag waived on the 17th lap.

Back underway, Cox jumped up on the cushion as he had all race long, and though second place poked their nose under him a few times, the Clarksburg, CA driver was able to pull away and score an impressive win the NCRA.

“Winning at such an historic track is pretty awesome,” Cox said. “Harley VanDyke had the car awesome, and I was able to hit my marks and grab us a win to close out our trip out here.”

Fortunately Cox was able to score a win to salvage what started out as a frustrating weekend.

In action at the Jackson Nationals on Friday and Saturday, Cox and his team fought a brake problem all night.

With brakes that seemed to drag no matter what, Cox was able to sneak into the Friday night feature event ,where he rolled off in the 14th position.

Battling issues that hampered him in heat race action, Cox held on to a 15th place finish.

Still working through issues on Saturday night, Cox started and ran fourth in his heat, putting him in the second row of the B main.

Finishing fourth in the B, Cox did not transfer to his first feature of the season, but was eligible for the evening’s non-qualifiers event, where he ran second.

“It was a great trip for us, and I am really excited to get home and compete in some big races out there. Our team seems to be clicking really well, and we were pretty good everywhere we went, so as a driver that gives me confidence,” he said.

Justyn and his Van Dyke Motorsports team would like to thank Lucas Oil,  K&N Products, JRI Shocks, Rodgers Racing Engines, K1 Safety Gear, JRD Endeavors, Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, Worton Designs, and College Cyclery for their support during the 2013 season.
