Taking on the California Civil War Series on Wednesday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Steven Tiner had to overcome a heat race miscue, charge through the B to score a 13th place finish.
“I definitely did not make it easy on myself, but we made the show, and scored a 13th place finish,” he said.
Qualifying 15th fastest out of 38 cars, Tiner had an issue in heat race action, that forced him into the work area.
Returning to the race, Tiner worked from the back up to a near transfer spot, as he made the last lap move for the spot, him and David Silvera got together, and neither finished, putting Tiner in the B.
Starting sixth in the B, Tiner was able to hold on to the sixth spot to put his BR Motorsports/King Racing Products/Elma Lanes backed entry in the feature event, but was deep in the 11th row.
Tip-toeing around the slick surface, Tiner would be able to work his way up a few spots to a 13th place finish.
“It was not the best night for us, and hopefully we can rebound and score a couple of good finishes before we end this season.”
Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank BR Motorsports, King Racing Products, Elma Lanes, Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, Dan Olson Race Products, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Good Ridge, Schoenfeld, Western Metal Company, and Roseville Precision for their support in 2013.
