Rossburg, OH — (October 12, 2013) — Brady Bacon picked up the season finale for the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series during the UNOH Sprintacular on Saturday night at Eldora Speedway. While Bacon drove his own car to victory on Saturday, he was quick to credit the experience of driving for Hoffman Auto Racing this season in helping him get up to speed at Eldora.

Bacon had a spirited battle for the lead with Luke Hall and Matt Westfall racing three wide for the lead and then holding off a late race charge by Chris Windom for the victory.

“I was aways told if you drive for Hoffman’s they will make you a good driver here and it showed tonight,” said Bacon. “I didn’t push it too hard until I saw Windom. I knew I had a good car.”

For Bacon it was the third feature he competed in on Saturday during the Sprintcular. Afterwards Bacon admitted he was tired after doing triple duty.

“I’m physically exhausted and need to go to bed!”

Luke Hall led the opening laps before Westfall and Bacon caught up creating a thrilling three car battle for the lead. At one point all three drivers were three wide for the lead going down the front stretch into turn one and exchanged multiple slide jobs before Bacon took command of the top spot.

Bacon then opened up his lead until approaching lapped traffic on lap 12. This allowed Windom, who moved up from his 12th starting position into the second position and started closing in on Bacon. As Windom closed on the leader Bacon made a pair of high line moves around slower traffic that boxed in Windom. This allowed Bacon to open up some breathing room to take the victory over Windom, Westfall, Dallas Hewitt, and Gary Taylor.

Tony Beaber secured his first Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series championship despite a wild flip in hot laps. Beaber jumped into his Dad’s car and put the car into the feature and drove it to his first championship with the series.

“Of all the ways I thought this race would play out tonight this is one way I never even dreamed of,” said Beaber. “My car is junk, and I had to use the heat race to get used to the other car. I am just glad we were able to pull it off”
