Spending a week in New Zealand as he does every year for winter competition, Jonathan Allard opted to fly back to the United States and compete in the King of the West season finale event at the Stockton Dirt Track, where he tallied a second place finish, and ended his season second in the standings.

“When the King of the West added the race at Stockton halfway through the year, the schedule in New Zealand had already been set, and luckily this weekend opened up, and I was able to come back and finish the deal out for Morrie and Katie Williams, and all of my guys,” Allard said.
Competing in both the 360 and 410 classes, Allard had some serious speed in both cars, but his 360 night didn’t end so well.
With 35 cars on hand competing against the King of the West Series, Allard jumpstarted his night by timing in second fastest during time trials.
Starting in the second row of his heat, Allard had a very strong start, as he jumped into the second position, as he chased after Kyle Hirst.
Unable to catch Hirst, Allard finished in the second spot, transferring into the feature event, and also the Dash, where he started in the fifth spot.
The track was extremely fast all night long, as cars turned record lap times at the new facility, making passing tough at times, but JA was able to score a fourth place finish, putting him in the second row for the feature event.
When the race got underway, Allard moved up into the third spot as he chased after race leader, Kyle Hirst, and second running, Rico Abreu.
At the halfway point, Allard moved into the second spot as he chased after Abreu, but the youngster was too good on this night, and Allard ended his night finishing second in both the race and the series standings.
In 360 action, Allard kicked his night off by timing in with the fastest lap during qualifications, before scoring a third place finish in his heat.
On the start of the feature, a car got into Allard, and he got upside down, and his night was over in that feature.
“Overall it was a pretty good night for us,” Allard said. “We had a ton of speed in both cars and that is always a good thing. I have to congratulate Kyle Hirst on winning the championship. It is an elite group of drivers, and something that is not easy.”
