– LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Nov. 5, 2013) – Logan Forler’s two nights of action with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour last weekend mirrored each other.

Forler opened each night being bit by a high pill draw, which started him on the third row or further in his heat race on the ultra-fast El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso, Texas, on Friday and at Southern New Mexico Speedway on Saturday.

“It was just really hard to pass in the heat races,” he said. “The tracks were just locked down. They started slicking off in the features.”

Forler finished fifth in his heat race both nights, which sent him to the B Main. He then advanced from fourth to third place in the B Main both nights to earn a transfer to each feature, which he started 19th on both Friday and Saturday.

“I was kinda picking cars off as we went,” he said of Friday. “I got lucky at the end and got a couple of extra cars. I just picked the right lines. I was at the right place at the right time.”

Forler advanced from 19th to seventh at El Paso Speedway Park to garner the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

Despite an ill-handling race car the ensuing night, he had similar fortune during the main event at Southern New Mexico Speedway. Forler advanced from 19 th to eighth, which marked his 39th top-10 finish of the season.

“We honestly weren’t that good all night,” he said. “The car just wasn’t that good and the track changed. A lot of people crashed so that’s what makes the results that good.”

Forler will wrap up the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour schedule this Friday and Saturday at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Cocopah Cup Challenge.

He earned the Hard Charger Award by advancing from 21st to seventh on March 1 and Forler placed eighth on March 2 at Cocopah Speedway with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
